en'til Zog!  Zog's Polar Lights TOS Kitbash

Engineering Test Vehicle, ETV-7

Making a new 'saucer'/primary hull. Nacelle source, secondary/engineering hull source, primary hull detail pieces. Turning these parts into a Federation experimental ship's secondary and priamry hulls.
Finding a new primary hull: two antique salt shakers butted together with the bridge B & C decks sliced from the kit saucer and grafted on.
The nacelles are the 'pilot' versions from the kit with some trim bits added.  The secondary/engineering hull is a Ziod part (a Terrordrome body modified?).   The primary hull's 'phazor strip' is made from quarter round styrene stock (hiding the salt shaker holes).

To make these parts into:
The primary hull, one needs rectangular evergreen bits to make secondary impulse engines, and a plastic ring bit to help disguise the salt shaker holes.
The secondary hull, one needs a shuttle bay:  Strips of sliced evergreen roofing along the top of the shuttle bay.  Some U channel stalk for the main impulse drive.   Metal siding stalk for the docking bay door.  Somm flat stalk to form a shield plate over the door.
Creating nacelle pylons:
U channel stalk with slices of evergreen steel roofing for detail.   (Cheating a seem Zog?)
Pre-shading the primary hull and nacelle's to give the look of panels. Above shot of the pre-shaded ship.

The completed ship, gets it's crew and station assignment. . .
