I'm basing my design on this one, but I've only gotten as far as modifying the saucer. If you want to build this, I'll offer you a trade... my saucer for yours

The only major problem would be to build the lower hull. It can be fairly easily built using sheet styrene and some circular formers, then plenty of putty. I just
haven't gotten to starting on it yet. Another thing... the neck is longer at the bottom than the kit part. That piece would have to be modified as well. I would
solve that problem by taking the kit piece, turn it upside down and saw off the curly-que that fits into the saucer, and glue the whole mess-upside down-onto the
lower hull and just putty the hell out of the saucer interface to get the curvature fit.
Anyway, there's a fair amount of fabrication to get it to look right.
