Mech Bay Project Part 51

Sparky cuts out some boxes for the Mech Bay bases

Slice n dice 4 inch finished pine for the Mech Bay/Garage Door bases.
I have enough parts for 21/2 sets of bays.  That's 3 door bases, and 2 bay bases.  A door base is defined as the longer piece after a 2 foot section is cut out of full sheet.  Door bases don't have to be used for doors, we could make them open areas behind the bay it self.  Where cherry pickers or tanks or boxes are stacked.  This would also be the area in which a mech walks out into, to turn around in, a mech will probably not be able to turn in place without a turn table.

First test cast of Crystal clear from smoothon in the consoles Mold

I mixed up a big batch of the clearcast stuff I got from TCS at wonderfest, smoothon no longer sales the smaller jugs to online orders.  The stuff was the 9 minuet pot life but I didn't look at that till after I had mixed it had it start to go off in the cup.  Despite this the consoles sheet casting came out good, there were a few parts with big bubbles that will have to be modified to be use-able.  The parts were soft after I pulled them from the pot so I turned the Crockpot on and laid out the demolded parts to post cure bake.  The resin is now crisp.  The spec on this stuff is 3-5 days for full cure, but post bake reduces this.  It was not sticky either way.  I preheated the mold after it got a good pre baking, and I preheated the resin parts in their metal cans.  I won't preheat the mold or resin parts next time, to extend my working time.  I don't have cost on this and I'll have to dig up my receipt on the clearcast to figure it.
