From the President (Fireside Chat)
Thank you for everyone who came to the January meeting.  We had a great turnout with 15 members attending.   Congratulations to the following new officers:

Last but not least, I would like everyone to know that; after meeting with most of the committee members above, one of my new responsibilities as president will be to work on recruitment.  If anyone has any ideas please feel free to let me know. Thanks -- L.S.

Club Business
Club roster was updated.  Updates will be done at Jan/Sept meetings.  Updated roster will be passed out at the February meeting.
The following announcements were passed on by John Lester:
-John had some interest on Starship Modeler about the possible purchase of the Jefferies Space Station.  John would like people to E-mail him with ideas for an appropriate asking price and whether he could negotiate for the club.
-John would also like to know if there is interest for another T-shirt run.  Remember that price is affected by the colors used and amount of ink used.  It is more expensive if less that 25 T-shirts are ordered.  Please E-mail John if interested.

Introduction of new members:
Yaro Rohowsky, who is into historical miniature gaming, and was nice enough to bring many examples of his work.  Welcome to the group Yaro!
Techmages Activities:
Group projects/ Build days:
Current group project is 1/32 Mech Bay Project with tentative completion date of May 2007.  Current project members are: Jon Kunatz, Larry Johnson, Joe Suttie, Larry Strickland, Ken Brennan, Tony Agustin.  Please contact Larry Strickland or Joe Suttie if interested.  Next group build day is scheduled for Sun. 1/28 at Joe’s house.
Dues/ Collections:
Joe Suttie (Treasurer) had reminders for those still owing dues.  Joe reports we are doing well with membership.
Awards:
Arthur Krull received the first Hat Trick Award (3 kits completed) and brought to a meeting.  Great job Art!!
Kit Reviews:
Balta Had the Alliance B5 Thunderbolt, and BSG Shuttle.  Both Look like great kits, with parts hollow/roto cast to reduce weight (the the shuttle) and prevent resin sag/drooping (Thunderbolt).
Greeblie roundup:
Joe Suttie of course brought his usual round up of various greeblies.  Most were for the Mech Bay Project.
Announcements for Next Meeting:
Next meeting will be held at the Blackhawk Center on 2/10/2007.
Tentative demo set up for Feb or March meeting.  Walt Fink will come to talk about IPMS judging.

Demo / Speaker:
Joe Suttie was able to do a very nice demo on simple pressure casting using a pressure pot from Harbor Freight online sale ($40) and smooth on products.  Great job Joe!  I heard Many positive comments about your demo.
Show and Tell:
Jon Kunatz:
Jon was able to bring in 4 projects he has been working on:
1) 1/48 scale (Hind) Helicopter;
2) finished 1/1000 scale Polar Lights Enterprise Convertion to the Detroyat class;
3) Star Craft Kit Destroyer 1/1400 scale, and
4) 1/32 scale armour vehicle for the current mech bay project.
  Keep up the good work Jon.
Terry 'Ter_or':
Terry is working on a F-16 Macross Conversion.  F-2 (F-16 upgrade) conversion for a Pat Labor Future Version with stealth features.  Terry is currently working with epoxy to re- skin this project.
Art Krull:
Art was able to bring in not 1, or 2, but 3 finished projects.
1) Finished 1/1000 scale Polar Lights D-7 with Romulan markings;
2) finished 1/1000 scale Polar Lights Enterprise Convertion to the Detroyat class;
3) Resin Ranger speed boat shuttle on a base with modified crewman made from railroad figure.
Congratulations with Hat Trick Award!!
Yaro Rohowsky:
* New Member* Recruited by Art, they are co-workers.  Yaro was nice enough to bring in a World War II Soldier diorama.  Yaro also brought in a wide selection of miniature wargamer figures.  Thanks for coming, and hope to see you at the next meeting.
Tony Agustin:
Tony was able to bring in 2 projects:
1) 1/35 scale Horizen Madcat which he is modifying for the current Mech Bay project;
2) Tony brought in the master for the observation booth for the Mech Bay project.
Great work as always Tony.
James 'ambassador_londo':
James had no show & tell, but did bring 4 kits for sale.  Please e-mail him if interested.
Ken 'Valkyrie':
Ken was able to bring in 2 kits:
1) 1/72 scale Destroid Tomahawk;
2) 1/35ish scale Core Fighter from First Gundam Series.
Baltazar 'BALTA1':
Baltazar was able to bring:
1) Tang shuttle from Battlestar Galactica - Rotocast from Federation models;
2) Babylon 5 Thunderbolt;
3) M-10 Tank Destroyer.
Larry J. 'scifi58' and wife Cynthia:
Larry brought in:
1) 1/24 scale figure transformed to a Pittsburgh Steeler;
2) Trumpeter Tank (Russian);
3) 1/35 scale Bushwhacker from BattleMech which Larry is scratchbuilding.
Neil 'mechmonkey':
Neil brought his Azteck dummy painting template for 1/1000 Refit Enterprise.  Neil also brought in the mock up for the 1/32 scale Mech Bay project.  Great job on the mock up Neil.
Joe 'Sparky':
Joe brought in various greeblies for the Mech Bay project and did a great demo of pressure casting.  Thanks again for the demo Joe - Great Job!!
Larry 'LDS20':
1/32 scale anti-gravity tank which is about 90% complete.  This tank will be used in the Mech Bay project.
