Mechmonkey:
"should i go ahead and build the mock up then or should i do another one based on that last idea?"

Sparky:
"I think we should wait another design cycle.

Larry called last night and we talked about the design.  Even the last mockup suffers from gaigantism.
One way to eliminate the height is to modify the crane so it slides around the mech and only just lifts a plate to the top, most armor repair is done on the face and back anyways.
The other way to get away with shorter columns is to use the giant R2 D2s on steroids shown at the center of the pie slices in Tony's first pie idea.

These robotic arms can reach above themselves on the occasion where a new top plate is needed.  For all other work they could work in pairs (one in place of the upper portion of each of the sides' columns seen in the last drawing).

There's plenty to do still, the support vehicles.  I need to rework my to left upper legs so I have a right and left.  And casting stuff.

"I  Think we need to wait for another design cycle prior to going to far with foam mockups.  Larry Senior."

"If the intent is to do a field- or unit-level repair facility, perhaps you should consider mobile cherry-pickers instead of factory-style gantries.  You could mount the thing just like on a fire truck.  You could also do a vehicle like a forklift on steroids to lift parts, armor, engine packs, etc."

"You can get a plastic mesh very much like the brass pictured .... by peeling it off hair rollers (3.99/dozen at dominicks)."
