Review (yet again) the Egnine Spindle Gribbly

December 14th, 2007

Here is the Engine Spidle Gribbly with some common parts for size reference

Big engine. Each spindle is 8 lego pegs in diameter and about 7 1/2 pegs high.

Why review this mixed in with a review of something from StarshipHulls?  Well my plan is to send some things to Andy, who desinged the ships and runs the website.  He has an online build section where the full size Freighter is being built up.  One of the first things to stick on the ship to make it look like ship are engines.  By showing the size of the engine spindle gribbly which is the largest gribbly I have molded at this time, with legos it would be easy for anyone anywhere to make a couple of mockup lego stacks.  By making some Xs out of lego bricks and tacking them up with poster tack, one could get an idea of how many they would want/need to get their ship 'under way.'
In the center of the engine spindle I have a silver cast of the foward facing
Revel/Monogram Babylon 5 Staryfurry Engine detail.
I have 3 of the engine spindles castup, due to the nature of the
mold they usually have some short shot areas and overflow areas. Some are tinited some are cast with metal foil powder coatings.
