Techmage December PotLuck Meeting
^ Techmage PotLuck

The December Potluck this year was pretty packed.  We had a lot of wives with the little ones too.  I did an last minute demo of cutting out LEDs from the Forever bright Christmas Tree LED sets.  I also brought a multicolor LED light string, which I opened up only to discover they didn't use those nifty single LEDs, that have multicolor in them.  Each bulb has 3 LEDs and two wires each with 3 connections coming into it.  The short story is that the fancy fading the LEDs go through is done by a circuit in the box that drives the whole chain, so on LED string cannot be divided up to be used in different models.  There's only one FX circuit for the whole chain.
I also had Alfred Wong's Rapier from SMT (one of the last casts I guess).  It came with the vacu-form weapons pod for lighting.

Neil showed us the latest work on his tank minis, and took all my castings.   He's buying for anyone who will have them completed for wonderfest.  He wants a table full of them.  He also brought the nose section of the paper cargo carrier he found at Butch O'hare.  It's 60's/70's still Sci-Fi, good classic design.  He's traced the pattern onto styrene and started on the command module.  Lots of GGRU bits on it already.  He's looking for help building the cargo pods, all those bulk heads will take some time to cut out.

Jonh brought the AMT Star Wars ROTS Corporate Alliance Droid Tank.  Some neat parts in there for sure!  He also had the new diecasts of the Star Wars jedi fighters, vary nice ships for a very good price.

Well that's about it for now see you next year!
